【摘要】:Undergroundelectricalandcommunicationconduitshouldbeimpervioustogroundwaterinordertopreventdamagetoconductorsandutilityvaults.Thebladdertestdescribedinthistestmethodmaybeusedtoqualifypotentialgasketedconduitsystemsbyindicatingwhetherthejointsystemwillpreventwaterinfiltration.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoqualifyjointsforplasticundergroundconduitsusingflexibleelastomericseals.However,itshouldnotbeassumedthatajointsystemthatpassesthistestmethodwillbeabletosealundercasesofmisinstallationorabuse,orboth.Thistestmethodcoversallofthefollowinggasketedconduittypes:encasedburial(EB)excludingEB20,directburial(DB),telecommunications,cabletelevision,andSchedule40conduitandSchedule80conduit.Tradesizescoveredare2-in.nominalsizeandlarger.(SeeUL651;NEMATC-2,TC-6,andTC8;andSpecificationF512.)Thistestmethodalsocoversfittingsthatareintendedforusewiththeconduittypesdescribedin3.3andwhichuseflexibleelastomericseals.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthewaterinfiltrationresistanceofgasketedplasticundergroundconduitjointsusingapressurizedwaterbladderapparatus.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
