【摘要】:Lightthatisscattereduponpassingthroughafilmorsheetofamaterialcanproduceahazyorsmokyfieldwhenobjectsareviewedthroughthematerial.Anothereffectcanbeveilingglare,asoccursinanautomobilewindshieldwhendrivingintothesun.Althoughhazemeasurementsaremademostcommonlybytheuseofahazemeter,aspectrophotometermaybeused,providedthatitmeetsthegeometricandspectralrequirementsofSection5.Theuseofaspectrophotometerforhazemeasurementofplasticscanprovidevaluablediagnosticdataontheoriginofthehaze,andProcedureBisdevotedtotheuseofaspectrophotometer.ProcedureA(hazemeter)testvaluesarenormallyslightlyhigherandlessvariablethanProcedureB(spectrophotometer)testvalues.Regularluminoustransmittanceisobtainedbyplacingaclearspecimenatsomedistancefromtheentranceportoftheintegratingsphere.However,whenthespecimenishazy,thetotalhemisphericalluminoustransmittancemustbemeasuredbyplacingthespecimenattheentranceportofthesphere.Themeasuredtotalhemisphericalluminoustransmittancewillbegreaterthantheregularluminoustransmittance,dependingontheopticalpropertiesofthesample.Withthistestmethod,thespecimenisnecessarilyplacedattheentranceportofthesphereinordertomeasurehazeandtotalhemisphericalluminoustransmittance.Hazedatarepresentativeofthematerialmaybeobtainedbyavoidingheterogeneoussurfaceorinternaldefectsnotcharacteristicofthematerial.Hazeandluminous-transmittancedataareespeciallyusefulforqualitycontrolandspecificationpurposes.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,referenceshouldbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,orcombinationthereof,coveredinthematerialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.Iftherearenomaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationofspecificlight-transmittingandwide-angle-light-scatteringpropertiesofplanarsectionsofmaterialssuchasessentiallytransparentplastic.Twoproceduresareprovidedforthemeasurementofluminoustransmittanceandhaze.ProcedureAusesahazemeterasdescribedinSection5andProcedureBusesaspectrophotometerasdescribedinSection8.Materialhavingahazevaluegreaterthan30%isconsidereddiffusingandshouldbetestedinaccordancewithPracticeE167.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Note18212;Forgreaterdiscriminationamongmaterialsthatscatterahighpercentoflightwithinanarrowforwardangle,suchasisthecasewithabradedtransparentplastics,adjustthehazemeterandperformmeasurementsinaccordancewithTestMethodD1044.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note28212;ThistestmethodisnotequivalenttoISO13468x2013;1andISO/DIS14782.
